Data we collect

Account data: email address, optional name, authentication metadata from Supabase, and basic profile settings.

Learning data: language goals, CEFR levels, activity logs, vocabulary status, SRS review data, can-do and grammar mastery statuses, textbook selections, completed textbook references, weekly goals, achievements, writing assessments, and placement test results.

Product analytics: Caluno uses PostHog with the EU endpoint to understand feature usage and product health. Events can include page or feature names, selected learning language, CEFR level, task source, and similar product metadata.

How we use data

We use learning data to show progress, build recommendations, generate mini-sessions, track SRS reviews, and help users understand their CEFR path.

We use account and authentication data to keep sessions secure and connect a user to their own records.

We use analytics to find broken flows, understand which features are useful, and prioritize product improvements.

AI processing

Writing assessment, placement test generation/scoring, and generated mini-session fallback tasks can send user-provided text and relevant learning context to an AI provider for processing.

Users should not submit sensitive personal, financial, medical, legal, or confidential third-party information into writing prompts or free-text goal fields.

Lesson audio recording and Whisper transcription are not enabled in the current product experience.

Cookies and analytics

Caluno uses Supabase authentication cookies to keep users signed in and refresh sessions safely.

PostHog analytics may set product analytics cookies or local storage identifiers. These are used for product measurement, not for selling personal data.

Retention and deletion

Learning records are retained while the account is active so progress, recommendations, exports, and history keep working.

Users can export profile and activity data from the Profile page.

Logged-in users can permanently delete their account from the Profile page after confirming the account email address and typing DELETE.

Users who cannot access their account can request deletion by emailing privacy@caluno.app from the account email address. The process is described on the Data deletion page.
